America’s Ideal Miss features six premier national titles

All of the judges’ decisions are final and we expect good sportsmanship to be shown by all delegates, friends and family.

There will be two panels of judges; one panel for the required competitions and one panel for the optional competitions. Optional competition scoring does not impact the selection of our new National Queens.

Fun Fashion competition will be the FIRST time the required competition judges will meet you, and you will be on stage! Next up, is Interview competition and then the Evening Gown competition.

Competition
& Judging

Rules for Ages 4-9

  • Makeup for Interview competition not allowed
  • Age appropriate makeup for stage competition
  • False eyelashes, flippers or false teeth are not allowed
  • Bare midriffs are not allowed, except for Activewear and Talent costumes

Rules for Ages 10-12

  • Light and natural makeup for Interview competition
  • Age appropriate makeup for stage competition
  • False eyelashes and natural hair extensions are allowed
  • Flippers or false teeth are not allowed

Rules for Ages 13-27

  • Age appropriate makeup for Interview and stage competition
  • False eyelashes and natural hair extensions are allowed

All three required competitions are scored on an equally weighted basis.

 

Fun Fashion

  • Think red carpet and high fashion. This is your chance to showcase your style, personality and runway modeling skills. No midriff showing on ages 4-9 and no hats or props.

Interview

The judges want to get to know you. They will be referring to your Interview Form for some of the questions.

  • Interview Attire: Delegates may wear a nice dress, jumpsuit or pants outfit – attire that fits your personality and makes you feel confident
  • Jr Princess (ages 4-6) and Princess Delegates (ages 7-9): Compete in round-robin style interview for 2 minutes with each judge
  • Preteen (ages 10-12), Jr Teen (ages 13-15) and Teen (ages 16-18) Delegates: Compete in panel-style interview for 3 minutes with the judges
  • Miss Delegates (ages 19-27): Compete in panel-style interview for 4 minutes with the judges

Evening Gown

  • Compete in an age appropriate floor-length evening gown, which should be a complimentary style, color and fit.

Optional competition scoring does not impact the selection of our new National Queens.

Spokesmodel
  • One winner per age division
  • Delegate presents a speech on stage based on a subject of their choice. Presentation must be between 30 and 60 seconds. Delegates may wear their interview outfit or similar style.
  • Fee $100    One entry limit
Casual Wear
  • One winner per age division
  • Each contestant will model a trendy casual outfit. No cocktail dresses. The outfit must be age appropriate and it should portray the contestant’s personal sense of style and fashion.
  • Fee $100    One entry limit

Activewear

  • One winner per age division
  • Delegates model athletic tops with leggings, capris, shorts or athletic skirts.
  • Fee $75    One entry limit

Swimsuit

  • One winner from each Jr Teen, Teen and Miss division
  • Swimsuit may be one piece or two piece style. Tops must have full coverage and no thong bottoms.  If preferred, you may wear a bottom coverup.
  • Competition takes place on stage with no audience admitted
  • Fee $75    One entry limit

Onstage Question

New this year! Let your confidence shine with the Onstage Question Optional. Here is the perfect opportunity to get comfortable thinking on your feet – a life and pageant skill definitely worth mastering. This Optional is offered prior to your required Interview as an Ideal practice opportunity! 

  • One winner per age division
  • Delegates will be asked a question on stage in front of a live audience
  • Question will come from your interview form and you will have 30 seconds to answer your question
  • Attire may be your interview outfit or a similar style 
  • This optional will not be live-streamed
  • Fee $75    One entry limit

Talent

  • One winner per age division
  • This is an opportunity to showcase your performance skills. Delegates perform a 90 second talent. All music must be submitted electronically.
  • Fee $100    One entry limit

Photogenic

  • One winner per age division
  • Black and white or color photos are accepted
  • All photos must be submitted electronically
  • Fee $100 per photo entry    Unlimited entries

Social Media Ambassador

  • One winner per age division
  • Delegates will receive a script prior to the pageant. This competition will take place during registration. 
  • Winners will record social media posts throughout the pageant.
  • Fee $50    One entry limit

America’s Ideal Talented Miss

  • One winner per age division
  • Combination of Talent, Spokesmodel and Interview scores. Delegates must enter Talent, Spokesmodel and America’s Ideal Talented Miss optionals to be eligible. 
  • Winner receives a 3 night cruise!
  • Fee $150    One entry limit

America’s Ideal Supermodel

  • One winner per age division
  • Combination of Spokesmodel, Casual Wear and Photogenic scores. Delegates must enter all three of these optional competitions along with America’s Ideal Supermodel to be eligible.
  • Winner receives a 3 night cruise!
  • Fee $150    One entry limit

America’s Ideal Cover Model

  • One Junior Division winner ages 4-12, one Senior Division winner ages 13-27
  • Junior Division winner will be featured on the inside back cover of the program book. Senior Division winner will be featured on the inside front cover of the program book.
  • Winner receives a 3 night cruise!
  • Fee $150 per photo entry    Unlimited entries

Best Interview

  • One winner per age division
  • This award will be given to the contestants with the highest interview scores.

Congeniality Award

  • One winner per age division
  • Voted on by fellow division delegates to select the delegate they feel has been the most positive and friendly.

Academic Achievement Award

  • One winner per age division
  • Delegates will complete the online application form and upload copies of their most recent final report card/transcript. Add any supporting copies of certificates of academic achievement received in the most recent school year.

Community Service Award

  • One winner per age division
  • These awards will be given to the delegates who turn in the most community service hours earned in the most recent year.

President’s Volunteer Service Award

  • Delegates may submit their community service and volunteer hours earned during the most recent year with their application to be considered for this White House sponsored initiative. Hours submitted for the Community Service Award can also be used for this application.

People’s Choice 

  • One winner per age division
  • Each age division winner will advance to recompete in the Junior and Senior Division Finals
  • Fans will have the opportunity to vote online for their favorite delegates
  • A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Feeding America National Initiative
